It’s a bit of a favourite. Listed as a Natura 2000 site, the Epagne forest is one of the most beautiful places to take a forest walk in Haute-Vienne. 🩵
Its exceptional richness and almost magical atmosphere make it a very popular cool walk in summer. Mossy stones, the scent of wild garlic and the murmur of the River Vige accompany the walk. 💧

The trail begins with a charming avenue of hazel trees, then winds through undergrowth, stream and river in the unspoilt Taurion valley. 💧
🧐 Keep your eyes peeled along the way: the remains of an old mill can still be made out in the vegetation. A great introduction before discovering, at Saint-Léonard de Noblat, a mill still in operation: the Moulin du Got 💙
At the end of the walk, it’s time to relax at the Soleil Levant lake, for a swimming break with a lovely view of the Monts d’Ambazac. 🏖️
