3. The Epagne forest - at Sauviat-sur-Vige

It’s a bit of a favourite. Listed as a Natura 2000 site, the Epagne forest is one of the most beautiful places to take a forest walk in Haute-Vienne. 🩵

Its exceptional richness and almost magical atmosphere make it a very popular cool walk in summer. Mossy stones, the scent of wild garlic and the murmur of the River Vige accompany the walk. 💧

There are a number of ways to explore the forest: hiking, an interpretation trail, or Terra Aventura for a fun family outing. A real concentrate of preserved nature. 🧭

4. The Mon Dilu Trail – In the woods of Saint-Paul

Easy forest walk between ponds and mushroom patches ~ 18 minutes away

The Mon Dilu circuit is an easy woodland walk, perfect for strolling through the woods with the kids near Saint-Léonard de Noblat. 🌲

Accessible and peaceful, this is an ideal nature outing to slow down the pace. 🍃

In around 50 minutes, the waymarked path skirts the Landes de Saint-Paul pond and several small bodies of water, offering a leisurely stroll through the forest, particularly pleasant on hot summer days. 🌿

At the end of the walk, it’s time to relax at the Soleil Levant lake, for a swimming break with a lovely view of the Monts d’Ambazac. 🏖️

Limoges is a city where nature is very much alive: numerous urban parks, bucolic banks of the Vienne and even forests classified as sensitive natural areas such as Le Mas du Loup (Couzeix, 45 min) and the Vaseix forest (Verneuil-sur-Vienne, 45 min)… The perfect way to fill up on greenery between two visits! 🌲
