1. The steeples and ponds circuit & marzipan

Fan of gourmet hikes? Head for Saint-Léonard de Noblat! Enjoy a hike to discover the mills, small villages and streams of its countryside. With plenty of viewpoints over the medieval town and its church listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France. ⛪

And after the effort, the comfort! Head for the market town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat to discover a gourmet speciality:marzipan! Made from almonds, egg white and sugar, this soft biscuit was offered to Scallop pilgrims. You can enjoy it in several of the town’s patisseries. 🥧

2. Circuit de César & Halte gourmande

The César circuit at Meuzac starting from the Lac de la Roche offers you a hike to discover the surrounding countryside and the small hamlets of Limousin. 🩵

After your hike, you can enjoy a meal of local flavours. The restaurant l’Escala Dau Lemosi, is located 400 metres from the finish point, on the banks of the Forgeneuve pond. The limousine meats take pride of place. An address to recommend to gourmets! 🐂

3. Sentier des pierres blanches & Macaron du Dorat

Our third suggestion for gourmet walks is a circuit starting from Dorat, one of the Petites Cités de Caractère of the Haute-Vienne and historic capital of the Basse Marche. This beautiful walk takes you to the heart of the majestic Monts de Blond. ✨

Before your hike, don’t forget to stop off at Délice Gourmand, to discover the town’s sweet speciality, le macaron du Dorat. Crunchy and melt-in-your-mouth, it’ll make a well-deserved snack on the way. 😋

4. Boucle d'Augne & Fondue pelaude

In the heart of the plateau de Millevaches this tour offers you a beautiful gourmet hike in a hilly landscape of Limousin with delicacies to taste at the end. 🥾

At Vervialle, stop for lunch at the Ranch du Lac restaurant where you can sample their speciality: pelaude fondue made from Limousin beef. 🫕

5. Sentier les Aubespins & l'Arena

6. Tour in the footsteps of Henri IV & restaurant

Montrol-Sénard offers a journey into the past. Discover the “Rural nostalgia” scenography in the heart of the village, with the school of yesteryear, the small built heritage… The circuit in the footsteps of Henri IV then takes you into the Monts de Blond countryside. 😍
