GOOD TO KNOW
Some shows, even free ones, require a reservation. Think about it!
1. Go to the Christmas show
in Saint Léonard de Noblat and Haute-VienneIn Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, Saturday December 14 will be a magical time to discover and share at the mediatheque, with a Christmas story for children aged 9 months to 4 years, and a Christmas show (booking required) from 2pm at the salle des fêtes.😍
Other shows for the whole family take place in the communes of Haute-Vienne at weekends in December. Theater, storytelling and fairy-tale animations will amaze young and old alike. These events, often free and specially designed for children, offer a moment of magic and discovery to share together.
Don’t miss these unique opportunities to treat the whole family without breaking the bank, and experience the magic of Christmas close to home.🎄
2. Explore the Haute-Vienne countryside
in Saint-Priest-sous-AixeThere’s no age limit to geocaching! With Terra Aventura, geocaching made in Limousin, you can take your family on an adventure with several discovery circuits.
With “Logeons-nous dans les bois” in Saint-Priest-sous-Aixe, children will be delighted to pick up 100% natural Christmas decorations along the way, or make land art on the spot 🪵. For strolls with the little ones, the shorter, stroller-accessible routes are marked with a pictogram 😉
If you haven’t already done so, create your Terra Aventura account so you can play and go. Download and install the free app on your smartphone: it is available in French, English, Dutch… If you don’t have a smartphone or don’t want to use one, you can download and print the route map for your route, or ask for one at the tourist office, and set off with a GPS.

3. Christmas in Limoges
Eye candy and funFor a magical late afternoon, come to Limoges to see the Christmas illuminations, and enjoy free activities to the delight of children. The 2024 program promises memorable moments of fun, with a large roller-skating track and toboggan slides. Who will strike the funniest pose or take the most “kawaii” selfie 🤳 in front of the big illuminated bear or the penguins on skis?
This year, the Church of Saint Peter hands over to the Basilica of Saint Michel des Lions for the new mapping show projected onto the façade😍. Marvel at these giant images full of poetry, you know, that magical moment when children are left speechless😉
Santa Claus 🎅🏻 will be there, of course! You can also admire the Christmas decorations as you stroll around downtown (place Denis Dussoubs, place Jourdan, place de la République…) Treat yourself to precious (and free!) family moments throughout December.
4. Deciphering the mysteries of the forest
at the La-Jonchère-Saint-Maurice arboretumThe Office National des Forêts, which manages theArboretum de la Jonchère Saint-Maurice, has had the good idea of creating a free application to help visitors explore this magnificent heritage site. You can use your mobile phone to follow the discovery trail and find indications for each of the 160 species that inhabit the arboretum. As well as identifying them, the app provides numerous photos of the trees in all seasons and explanations of their history, flowering and so on.
The walk takes around 1h30. A great way to get some fresh air and learn about the trees that surround us.
The “Arboretum de la Jonchère 87” application is available on the App Store platform and is also available for Android.
