After a bite to eat at L’échoppe pelaude, bye bye Eymoutiers and hello Limoges. We love its events and its huge Christmas market, which takes place throughout December. Who’s up for a sledge ride or a giant skating rink? Or a ride on the little train?

The more athletic will try their hand at climbing the 106 steps of the island’s lighthouse to enjoy the panoramic view over the lake.

Afterwards, head to the restaurant l’Atelier in Royère de Vassivière to savour the local gastronomy one last time and bargain in their boutique area ( it’s almost as good as a Christmas market!).
