Sanfourche et Paguenaud : Limousin, terre d’attache

Come and discover the exhibition dedicated to Sanfourche, one of the great artists of the Art Brut/ Art Singulier movement (along with Chaissac and Dubuffet). Sanfourche is a painter with a talent for poetry and the epistolary genre. He wrote extensively about his paintings. He was also a collector (of books, in particular). He dared to write to Jean Dubuffet, to whom he explained his desire to make a living from his paintings. An abundant correspondence ensued (over 14 years), which came to an abrupt end with J.
