Claire Durand-Drouhin grounds her choreographic exploration in the fusion of professional dancers with individuals from “ordinary life,” who bear the scars of reality due to their disabilities. *Le Bal des Ardents* explores the darker side of this tribe’s human relationships: power, domination, and subordination. Between *Bal* and *Mal des ardents*, these historical references evoke collective dances, processions, and contagious trances. The performance navigates the realm where mutual aid becomes impossible and where each person confronts their own abyss. Each unique body takes center stage within the group to reveal its inner flame and achieve its emancipation.
