Bach’s compositions, performed by the baroque ensemble Il Convito on the transverse flute, violin, viola da gamba, cello, and harpsichord, are constructed without any narrative development, leaving room for emotional hues. The music, brimming with rhythmic brilliance, inspires the dancers, whose movements arise from improvisation.
