Dominating the town of Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, the Tour du Plô (13th century) is an impressive 20-metre keep, a vestige of the power of the Viscounts of Limoges. 🏰

Recently restored, it now boasts a panoramic terrace 🌄 accessible after a hundred or so steps… for a unique view of the Arédian city ✨.

Jeannette Tower

Saint-Jean-Ligoure

Nestling in the heart of the Ligoure forest park, the medieval fortress of Châlucet (12th century) still reveals its impressive remains today. 🏰

Arches, suspended staircases and walls are a reminder of the past power of this not-to-be-missed site. In lower Châlucet, climb to the top of the Jeannette tower and marvel at the breathtaking view over the Briance valley. 👀

Between heritage and nature, the walk is free and accessible every day.

The Centre international d'art et du paysage

Beaumont-du-Lac

Set on the island of Vassivière, in the heart of the lake of the same name, the Centre international d’art et du paysage (CIAP) is a unique place where contemporary art dialogues with nature. 🍃

Designed by architects Aldo Rossi and Xavier Fabre and inaugurated in 1991, this astonishing building houses temporary exhibitions throughout the year and opens onto a vast Sculpture Wood where almost sixty works line the forests, meadows and banks.

Climbing up the steps of the lighthouse tower 🗼 gives visitors an exceptional panoramic view of Lake Vassivière and the landscapes of the Millevaches plateau 🌲.

Belvedere Eymoutiers

Overlooking the Vienne river, the Eymoutiers belvedere is a contemporary creation created as part of the Vassivière Utopia art trail (2018-2020), commissioned by the Centre international d’art et du paysage.

Designed as a veritable balcony overlooking the town, this belvedere offers a privileged view of the historic heart of Eymoutiers. 🧡

Set on a south-facing sloping plot, it benefits from year-round sunshine and invites you to contemplate the town and its surrounding landscapes. 🌿👀

Belvedere Saint-Pardoux

Saint-Pardoux

Located near the motorhome park, the panoramic platform of the Saint-Pardoux lake invites you to take a contemplative break. 👀

Easy to access, it offers an unobstructed view over the expanse of the lake and its wooded shores 🌿.

Whether you’re looking for a moment to relax, take a souvenir photo 📸 or simply enjoy the peace and quiet, this belvedere is an ideal place to stop and admire the beauty of the site ✨.

Mont Gargan

The highest point in the Châlus mountains, Mont Gargan (731 m) is a landmark of the Haute-Vienne region. ⛰️

Accessible via a pleasant footpath, the summit reveals the ruins of a 19th-century chapel, surrounded by moorland and forest 🌿.

From the ridge, an exceptional panoramic view opens up over the Plateau de Millevaches, the Monts d’Ambazac and, on a clear day, as far as the Monts d’Auvergne 👀 🌄.

From the top of Saint-Martial hill, a magnificent view opens up over the village of Châteauponsac, nicknamed the Pearl of the Gartempe. 👀

Perched on its rocky spur, the village reveals its narrow streets, its emblematic Faubourg du Moustier and the church of Saint-Thyrse overlooking the valley 🏰.

Below, the old terraced gardens lead down to the Gartempe river 🌿.

Furnished with benches and a picnic table, this belvedere is the ideal place to enjoy a quiet moment and contemplate the beauty of the landscape ✨.

Panoramic view from the Jardins de l'Évêché

Limoges

Located in the heart of Limoges city centre, the Jardins de l’Évêché offer a peaceful, leafy setting, ideal for a stroll or a relaxing break. 🍃

This public garden, laid out on the terraces of the former Bishop’s Palace, harmoniously combines flower beds, elegant fountains and shady paths. 🌷

From its terraces, a breathtaking view stretches across the Vienne on one side and Saint-Etienne’s Cathedral on the other, offering an exceptional panorama of the city. 👀

This is also a botanical garden, a veritable conservatory of biodiversity, where you can discover a rich variety of plants. 🪴

Pierre Branlante

La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice

Perched at an altitude of 650 metres, the Pierre Branlante proudly dominates the Monts d’Ambazac. 👀

This gigantic rocky chaos offers one of the most beautiful views in the Limousin 🌄.

From here, you can see for over 50 kilometres in all directions, over the relief of the northern Haute-Vienne.

The village of La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice lies 300 metres below.

A spectacular site where nature, stone and panorama unite for a suspended moment, between wonder and serenity. ✨
