Font Couvé is one of Champagnac La Rivière's five "good fountains". The origins of the fountains are not well known, but they already existed in the early days of the evangelization of the Limousin. The relationship between devotional fountains and the Catholic religion is at the heart of the subject. During the period of Christianization and up until the 13th century, the Church fought unceasingly for their disappearance. Unable to do so, it decided to make them its own. A name was assigned to each of them, and legends were created featuring the saint concerned to give a Christian framework to their origins. The origin of the fountain's name is not known. But it is said to have the virtue of curing rheumatism and gout.
