Named Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens, the church was probably originally a private chapel on a rural estate, and later became a parish church by dismemberment from the neighboring parish of Flavignac. Like many others in the region, the church appears to have been rebuilt in the late 15th or early 16th century, after the ravages of the Hundred Years War.
