This manuscript, the first artist's book from Saint-Yrieix, was produced in the early 12th century by Pierre Del Casta (a canon from Périgord) for the chapter of the monks of Saint-Yrieix. Listed as a historic monument in 1988, this remarkable bible is considered by many specialists to be "the finest Romanesque manuscript preserved in Limousin", thanks to the quality of its illuminations.
