The Limoges Opera, originally named Grand théâtre de Limoges then Opéra-théâtre de Limoges and renamed Opéra de Limoges since January 2016, is a performance hall located in downtown Limoges. It is adjacent to the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Limoges.
Lyrical performances (operas, concerts by the Orchestre de Limoges et du Limousin (OLIM), chamber music concerts, ballets) are given here, as well as other non-lyrical performances (plays, concerts of contemporary music, French chanson, comedy shows and events linked to festivals (such as the Festival des francophonies en Limousin).It is one of the largest opera houses in France, just after the Bastille and Garnier operas.
In 2024, the Opéra de Limoges will be awarded the "théâtre lyrique d'intérêt national" label
