The "Un train peut en cacher un autre" exhibition recounts the history and stories of the 2 railway lines that have crossed the Pays Monts et Barrages region: the "classic" train that everyone recognizes (the Limoges-Ussel line, in service between 1881 and 1883); and another, lesser-known train, "hidden" behind the first: the former departmental electric tramway (line no. 4 Limoges-Peyrat-le-Château, in service from 1912 to 1949). 18 panels feature over 200 archive documents, photos and previously unpublished testimonials, the result of research carried out in the archives and a collection of memories gathered from local residents, providing an insight into the modes of transport that revolutionized life in this rural area between the end of the 19th century and the 1950s. Free guided tour of the exhibition Tuesdays and Saturdays at 3:30pm. (duration 1h30).
