Aude Arnold engraves on limestone, her medium of choice for over 20 years. She primarily uses two techniques, derived from centuries-old processes that she has adapted to her needs: drypoint engraving, executed on dry plaster—a precise and time-consuming process—and acid etching, based on the principle of etching.
Each phase of the work is an immersion in a particular state of being. The time spent on drypoint engraving or preparatory drawing is meditative. Applying the acid, mixing the pigments, and applying color are carried out with a more intense energy.
