Prelude at 7:15 p.m. — Composer Kevin Malfait provides historical context for Guillaume d’Aquitaine’s poem and discusses the work done with the company. In partnership with the Limousin Regional Center for Traditional Music.
The company’s artists have an intimate and profound understanding of the poem *Je fais un chant de pur néant*, which has been with them for years. The result is a piece imbued with subtle humor and absolute delicacy, in which we encounter a stonemason of imaginary stones, a magician, an organist, and a singer who performs in Occitan…
Here, a passive gaze is impossible; the quest for the invisible falls to the audience.
To turn almost nothing into a miracle of presence is deeply moving.
