%C0 To mark European Heritage Days, the Pagnac quarry is opening its doors for a special event, offering visitors an immersive experience at the heart of an industrial site that has been in operation for nearly a century. This guided tour offers a chance to discover the various stages of gneiss mining, from rock extraction tothe manufacturing and storage of aggregates used primarily for road and rail infrastructure. Participants will be able to get up close to the facilities at the quarry, observe the quarry faces, and gain a better understanding of extraction techniques, including blasting. The tour also highlights the site’s ecological richness, a refuge for remarkable biodiversity where species such as the peregrine falcon, the lesser horseshoe bat, and the natterjack toad coexist.
