This great hike in Limousin links Saint-Léonard de Noblat to the mythical Mont Gargan (an exceptional viewpoint over the moors) and to Lac de Vassivière (a 1000-hectare jewel). With the Grand Tour, there are 9 stages between deep forests, villages of character, ancestral know-how and the memory of the Resistance. 🥾
This hiking trail in Haute-Vienne is connected to the GR®4, GR®654, GR®440 and GR®46: a coherent loop in the heart of the Massif Central foothills. Let yourself be surprised by this secret territory… Peace and quiet guaranteed! 🌿

It’s progressing… slowly, like Monsieur Montaigne called back to Bordeaux in spite of himself! The GR® 89 will retrace this return, punctuated by doubts, curiosity andwriting. Just a little more patience… ✨

Our favourite walk in Saint-Léonard de NoblatBefore you set off on the GR®, warm up your legs on our favourite route: the Circuit des Clochers et des Étangs, accessible from the picturesque district of Noblat. 💚
Its 15 km provide the perfect preamble: a succession of small valleys, old mills, lakeside passages and superb views of the collegiate church. 👀
Then climb the steep but emblematic Chemin du Pavé to reach the historic centre, with its medieval architecture and small shops… ideal for a well-deserved marzipan break! 😋
To prolong the effort, follow on with Entre Vienne et Tard: a further 10km between rivers, Limousin hamlets and the Moulin du Got, a local must-see. 🤩
