The Medieval Festival of Saint-Léonard de Noblat

Every year, on the weekend after 15 August, the historic heart of the small town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat vibrates to the rhythm of the Fête des Médiévales… On 22 and 23 August 2026, the 13th edition of this popular festival will be held at Limousin. The squares and ancient streets of one of the ” Most Beautiful Detours in France ” will be filled with jugglers, minstrels and musicians! Don’t miss this festive summer rendezvous at Saint-Léonard de Noblat in Haute-Vienne, between Limoges and Paris. Lac de Vassivière ! Over 15,000 visitors are expected… will you be there?

13th edition of the Fête Médiévale de Saint-Léonard de Noblat

Take your family back to the Middle Ages with a host of free events in the historic heart of the town, including street performances, troop parades, children’s combat, a medieval forge, behourd, axe-throwing and a medieval concert….

A medieval camp will give you the chance to experience life as it was in the Middle Ages, with a medieval cooking area, games and entertainment. Around forty exhibitors will be on hand at the medieval market to offer costumes, grimoires, wooden swords and other trinkets and craft items.

DID YOU KNOW?

During the medieval festival, the Musée Gay Lussac puts you in the shoes of the alchemists with a range of scientific activities, including transmuting lead into gold, gas experiments, quizzes, medieval games and challenges…

A gourmet get-together in a land of cattle breeding

🚨 Usually held in conjunction with the medieval festival, the festivities of the Fête de la Race Bovine Limousine are exceptionally taking place a little earlier this year and will take place the weekend before on the Place de la Libération, on 16 and 17 August 2025 (a little more patience, date 2026 to be announced)!

On the programme: presentation of Limousin cows and bulls, breeding cattle and butchery competitions, festive meals, bulk sales of labelled meat, tasting with the meat bar, market of local produce and crafts…

Practical info

Free admission

Admission to the Fête Médiévale is free for all! There’s no need to untie your purse… keep your ecus and sesterces to treat yourself at the stalls run by producers and craftsmen!

Meeting point in the town centre

See you all day on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August 2026 in the old centre of Saint-Léonard de Noblat and on the Place de la Libération.

Come in costume!

Don’t hesitate to come in costume to make the festivities even better! Craftsmen will be selling outfits and accessories at the medieval market… 😉

Alongside the medieval festival, local craftspeople will be exhibiting their skills, some of which date back to medieval times!
