Every year, on the weekend after August 15th, the historic heart of Saint-Léonard de Noblat vibrates to the rhythm of the Fête des Médiévales… August 23 and 24, 2025 will mark the 12th edition of this popular festival in Limousin! The squares and ancient streets of one of France’ s ” Most Beautiful Detours ” will be filled with jugglers, minstrels and musicians! Don’t miss this festive summer event at Saint-Léonard de Noblat in Haute-Vienne, between Limoges and Lac de Vassivière! Over 15,000 visitors are expected… will you be there?

12th edition of the Saint-Léonard de Noblat Medieval Festival

Take your family on a fun-filled journey back to medieval times, with a host of free events in the historic heart of the town: street performances, troop strolls, children’s combat, medieval forge, behourd, axe-throwing, medieval concert….

A medieval camp offers a chance to relive the Middle Ages, with a medieval cooking area, games and entertainment. Some forty exhibitors will be on hand at the medieval market to offer costumes, grimoires, wooden swords and other trinkets & handicrafts.

DID YOU KNOW?

During the medieval festival, the Musée Gay Lussac puts you in the alchemist ‘s shoes with scientific activities: transmutation of lead into gold, gas experiments, quizzes, medieval games, challenges…

Gourmet rendezvous in a land of cattle breeding

🚨 Usually held in conjunction with the medieval festival, the festivities of the Fête de la Race Bovine Limousine are getting a little ahead of schedule and will take place the weekend before on the Place de la Libération, August 16 and 17!

On the program: presentation of Limousin cows and bulls, breeding cattle and beef competitions, festive meals, bulk sales of labelized meat, tastings at the meat bar, local produce and craft market…

Free admission

Admission to the Fête Médiévale is free for all! There’s no need to untie your purse… just keep your écus and sesterces to indulge yourself at the producers’ and craftsmen’s stalls!

RDV downtown

All day Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2025 in the old town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat and on the Place de la Libération.

Come in costume!

Don’t hesitate to come in costume to make the party even better! Artisans will be selling outfits and accessories at the medieval market… 😉

Alongside the medieval festival, local craftsmen and women will be exhibiting their skills, some of which date back to medieval times!
