Experience life as a knight at Saint-Léonard de Noblat ~ 22-23 August 2026

⚔️ Do you feel like a knight or a princess?

Yes ? Then come along to the Médiévales festival at Saint-Léonard de Noblat! 🏹
Held every year on the weekend following 15 August in the historic town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat. Combined with the Fête de la Race Bovine Limousine, it’s the event not to be missed in the heart of summer for a festive dip into the Middle Ages!

🏰 Throughout the weekend, the squares and ancient streets of one of the “Most Beautiful Detours in France” are taken over by jugglers, minstrels and musicians… as well as the most beautiful Limousin cows presented by breeders who are proud of their trade!

👑 And to make the party even crazier, don’t hesitate to come in costume!

2. Saint Martial's Day

Equestrian jousting at Saint-Léonard de Noblat ~ 3-5 July 2026

A dada on my horse on Saint Martial’s day! 🐎

On the first weekend in July, the banks of the Vienne at Saint-Léonard de Noblat perpetuate a festival where skilled steeds are given pride of place. During this equestrian joust, which dates back to the Middle Ages, galloping riders have to seize a ring with a spear! 💍

On the festival menu: election of the king of the village by the light of brandons, a market of local producers, a country-style meal, concerts, entertainment for children, fireworks by the water… 🎉

In short, there’s more than one reason to come and celebrate! What’s yours?

3. The Marcel Jourde

Vintage bike ride Limousin ~ 18 April 2026

Ever heard of the Marcel Jourde? A ride on a vintage bike in period clothing on the Raymond Poulidor estate at Limousin… It’s an event not to be missed by any self-respecting cycling fan!🚴

And, good news, it’s organised every April by the VéloRétro87 association in Royères, between Saint-Léonard de Noblat and Limoges. 🤗

When the weather’s nice, get out your old bike, the one that hangs in your garage, or in the attic, that has kept your DNA, your suffering, your sweat, but also your memories! 🙏

The routes are signposted, and the pace is free, with no speed restrictions. And if you walk up a few hills… shhh, we won’t say a word! 💚

4. The major annual exhibition

Paper comes to life at the Moulin du Got ~ March to December 2026

Every year, it’s time for the big art exhibition at the Moulin du Got at Saint-Léonard de Noblat! 🤗

Around ten French and international artists come together around an imposed theme, always with a link to paper! 👩‍🎨

In 2026, it’s all about the characters! Equilibrists, dancers, nomads… Men and women made of cut, folded, crumpled or modelled paper come to life with a striking humanity. We wonder, we marvel, we imagine their stories. A gallery of poetic, touching, funny or intriguing portraits that celebrate the fragility and beauty of human beings. 🎭

5. The Quintaine Festival

in autumn at Saint-Léonard de Noblat ~ 15 November 2026

At Saint-Léonard de Noblat en Limousin, we love traditional festivals! Don’t you? Every autumn, the “miaulétous” (as the inhabitants of the town are known) celebrate the Quintaine on the second Sunday after the feast of Saint Leonard. 🍂

The inhabitants of Saint-Léonard de Noblat are thus perpetuating a very old traditional event which honours Saint Léonard, the founder of the town and patron saint of prisoners. ⛪

The festival begins with a procession into town of the Quintaine, a small wooden prison, which is then attacked and destroyed by horsemen armed with wooden sticks. 🐎

Once the Quintaine has been destroyed, its fragments are distributed among the spectators. It is said to bring good luck… Be sure to take yours home with you! 🍀

6. The Ostensions Limousines

at Saint-Léonard de Noblat ~ may 20230

Have you heard of the Ostensions Limousin? Listed as an intangible heritage site by UNESCO, these are grandiose ceremonies organised every 7 years. During these processions, the relics of Catholic saints preserved in the churches of Limousin are exhibited. 💚

These festivities attract thousands of people who gather to watch the reliquaries parade through the towns accompanied by flags, banners, decorations and costumed historical figures. 🚩

Join us in 2030 at Saint-Léonard de Noblat to experience this great popular festival dedicated to the city’s patron saint, in the presence of some twenty delegations from France and Europe! Will you be there? ⏰
