Les Léon’Arts at Saint-Léonard de Noblat – EN

In the medieval town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat, we like to put arts and crafts centre stage. Every year in summer and at Christmas, craft professionals set up an ephemeral shop to promote the skills of the Limousin during the “Léon’Arts” festival.

Saint-Léonard de Noblat, a land of expertise

The town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat has been awarded the “Ville et Métiers d’Art” (Town and Crafts) label, and is home to a large number of arts and craftspeople who perpetuate time-honoured skills. The arts of fire are alive and well, paper is handmade and tanning is vegetable-based.

While paper pulp is being kneaded at Moulin du Got, kaolin is being metamorphosed in the Porcelaines Carpenet workshops, clay is being twirled by Marie-France, and leather is being transformed by the effects of tanning and time… and so goes the ballet, both artistic and technical, of our craftsmen!

Léon’Arts

The town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat supports these goldsmiths of Limousin know-how by organising the “Léon’Arts, Vitrines des métiers d’art “.

The “Léon’Arts” Arts and Crafts Showcase is a major exhibition and sale of arts and crafts from Saint-Léonard de Noblat and the surrounding region, held every year in the summer and at Christmas.

Another event to keep in your diary is the “Léon’Arts, Rencontres des Métiers d’art”. This festive arts and crafts day celebrates the exceptional skills of our craftspeople in mid-August, at the same time as the Médiévales festival!
