Every year, the weekend after August 15th, the historic heart of the small town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat vibrates to the rhythm of the Fête des Médiévales and the Fête de la Race Bovine Limousine… August 17 and 18, 2024 will mark the 11th edition of this popular festival in Limousin! The ancient squares and lanes of one of France’ s ” Most Beautiful Detours ” will be filled with jugglers, minstrels and musicians… as well as the finest animals presented by Limousin cow breeders proud of their trade! Don’t miss this festive summer event at Saint-Léonard de Noblat in Haute-Vienne, between Limoges and Lac de Vassivière! Over 15,000 visitors are expected… will you be there?

Fête médiévale de Saint-Léonard de Noblat

11th edition of the Saint-Léonard de Noblat Medieval Festival

Take your family on a fun-filled journey back to medieval times, with a host of free events in the historic heart of the town: street performances, troop parades, children’s combat, medieval forge, behourd, axe throwing, medieval concert….

A medieval camp offers a chance to relive the Middle Ages, with a medieval cooking area, games and entertainment. Some forty exhibitors will be on hand at the medieval market, offering costumes, grimoires, wooden swords and other trinkets and handicrafts.

During the medieval festival, the Musée Gay Lussac puts you in the alchemist ‘s shoes with scientific activities: transmutation of lead into gold, gas experiments, quizzes, medieval games, challenges…

A gourmet rendez-vous in a land of cattle breeding

Place de la Libération awaits the festivities of the Fête de la Race Bovine Limousine, coupled with the medieval festival.

On the program: presentation of Limousin cows and bulls, breeding cattle and beef competitions, festive meals, bulk sales of labelized meat, tasting with the meat bar, market of local produce and crafts…

Free admission

Admission to the Fête Médiévale is free for all! There’s no need to untie your purse… just keep your ecus and sesterces to indulge yourself at the producers’ and craftsmen’s stalls!

All day Saturday and Sunday in the old town of Saint-Léonard de Noblat on the Place de la Libération.

Come in costume!

Don’t hesitate to come in costume to make the party even better! Artisans will be selling outfits and accessories at the medieval market… 😉
