Clef Verte, the first eco-responsible label, is in Haute-Vienne!

Ajouter aux favoris
Clef Verte is the first international sustainable tourism label for accommodation and catering. In France, it is promoted by the Teragir association. It is awarded to establishments (hotels, campsites, gîtes, bed and breakfasts, tourist residences, youth hostels, restaurants, etc.) that comply with a rigorous set of environmental and social criteria: water, energy and waste management, responsible purchasing, awareness-raising, environmental governance, etc. But it is also, and above all, an asset for structuring your sustainable approach and enhancing the profile of your establishment, an opportunity to develop your offering and a reliable framework for improving your practices and generating savings!

Concrete benefits:

Opting for Clef Verte means making a sustainable commitment – but it’s also aconcrete way of making savings and enhancing your appeal:

  • Reduced operating costs: better management of energy, water and consumables – which can translate into significant savings on bills.
  • Enhanced marketing & customer appeal: a recognised label reassures customers who are sensitive to sustainable tourism (in France and abroad), and helps you stand out from the competition.
  • Improved organisation & professionalism: the establishment of a structured framework, mobilisation of teams, enhanced quality of service – these are all assets for the long-term future of the establishment.
  • Anticipation of regulatory and societal expectations: passengers and local authorities are expecting more and more environmental responsibility – to be awarded the label today is to anticipate changing standards.

Did you know?

  • In 2025, 73% of European travellers consider sustainable travel options to be a key criterion, and 75% of French travellers now attach importance to this (Hospitalitynet, 2025).
  • Over 53% of travellers say they are aware of the environmental and social impact of tourism, and 69% want their spending to benefit local communities (Booking.com, 2025).
  • However – a sign that there is still a long way to go – 52% of French people feel that the actions taken by accommodation providers to promote sustainable tourism are not sufficiently publicised (Tendance Hôtellerie Baromètre 2025).

👉 In concrete terms: The demand for responsible and committed holidays is no longer marginal – it has become a structuring criterion for a majority of travellers! Committed establishments – and even more so those with a quality label – are more visible, more attractive and more competitive with a fast-growing clientele that prefers responsible operators.

Our partnership with Teragir & support via the Collectif Tourisme

The Collectif Tourisme LIMOUSIN nouveaux horizons has joined forces with Teragir in 2025/2026 to facilitate access to the Clef Verte label for our region’s accommodation and restaurant operators. The professional networks are also involved in this initiative.

  • We are organising an information morning on 15 January 2026 to present the label and its challenges.
  • We are offering an e-learning “Environmental Referent” course (over 7 hours), provided by FairMoove Solutions. This training, which is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the label, will be made available free of charge for all applications submitted via the Collectif. You will be able to take the training at your own pace, learn best practice and manage your approach.
  • Teragir will providesupport (criteria, documents, etc.)for all applications under construction.
