Cultural crossroads in the Limousin

Every summer, Mont Gargan becomes the stage for a journey without frontiers. For six decades, the Mont Gargan Festival has been forging links between peoples, generations and traditions. 🥰

On this land steeped in memory, you can hear the heart of Limousin beating to the rhythm of dances from around the world. Scarves twirl, hooves strike the ground, voices are raised in every language, and emotion is everywhere: in a shared smile, an outstretched hand, a melody that brings people together. 💃

It’s a simple idea, born in 1965: bring cultures together through popular arts. And it still works. ❤️

DID YOU KNOW?

The heart of the festival is the day on 15 August: a must since the very first edition.

An exceptional setting

A breath of pure air, an infinite horizon, the whisper of the wind in the hundred-year-old beech trees… 🍃

At Mont Gargan, traditions take on new heights. At an altitude of over 700 metres, this emblematic summit becomes, for the duration of a summer, the stage for a vibrant dialogue between song, dance and landscape. 🎶

Far from the hustle and bustle, the festival takes root among colourful heather and stone villages, weaving a sensitive link between nature and culture. 🏵️
