A quick of a view

1. La frairie des petits ventres What's this? 🧐

What you need to know to be a real Limousin! ☝️

La Frairie des Petits Ventres de Limoges is the gourmet event that has been attracting 40,000 people every year since 1973. You’ll find a host of sweet and savoury Limousin specialities.

Organized by the Old Limoges Association, this event celebrates the memory of Limoges’ once-powerful butchers’ guild.

In fact, at number 36 rue de la boucherie, you can visit the traditional butcher’s house, complete with period tools and fittings!

2. Start the day at Les Halles

of Limoges

A gastronomic marathon begins at Les Halles de Limoges! 🍽️

Get off to a good start with a coffee at the Ilôt des Halles or the Bistrot des Halles, and soak up the atmosphere, from the hustle and bustle of the traders’ stalls to the smells of food emanating from the stalls and all kinds of discussions.

We recommend a stop at the Pascalain stand and try the Limousin chestnut fondant. The only prerequisite? You’ve got to love chestnuts! 🌰

This chocolate-covered chestnut heart fondant pastry will knock your socks off. 🍫

For the savory team, you can enjoy tripe, the traditional pâté de pommes de terre and many other fresh products!

As you can see, at Les Halles, we invite you to wander between the various stalls and arouse your curiosity.

3. Let the spawning begin

the Boucherie district, Place Saint-Aurélien and Barreyrette

Noon sharp, let the party begin! 🕛🎉

From Les Halles, head to the Boucherie district and wander between the stalls of various producers. La Frairie not only sets up shop here, but also on Place Saint-Aurélien and Place de la Barreyrette.

Find tripiers, butchers and restaurateurs offering 100% Limousin local produce, all to the rhythm of folk groups. 🎺

On the menu for meat lovers: andouilles, andouillettes, boudins noirs, boudins blancs, kidneys, amourettes, tripe…

For the sweet team, discover flognarde, Limousin à la châtaigne and many other Limousin specialties. 🍏

When it comes to beverages, try apple juice from Limousin or beer from local breweries.

4. Time for a break!

Once you’ve had your fill of local specialties, we suggest a little digestive stroll. Visit the Cour du Temple, just a 5-minute walk from the Boucherie district. You’ll discover a haven of peace in the middle of a pedestrian zone.

Take a detour to Place Saint-Michel, home to the great basilica of Saint-Michel-des-Lions.

Take a seat at a terrace table before heading back to the Frairie des Petits Ventres. ☕️

5. 6 p.m. back at the spa!

The break is over! Back in the Boucherie district, join us for the inauguration of the site by Limoges town council at 6pm. At the same time, the statue of Notre-Dame-de-Pitié, also known as Notre-Dame-des-Petits-Ventres, is carried in procession, to recall the tradition of the butchers’ ladies, who in the 19th century celebrated the Virgin by this name.

Refuel with Limousin specialties until 10pm, when the Frairie des Petits Ventres closes. 🥩🍏

6. You're not leaving us yet...

In your festive spirit, you’ve exchanged ideas with local producers, made new acquaintances and bim arrives at 10pm 💥 time to say goodbye!

Let’s get on with the fun! 🧐

Many lively neighborhoods will be delighted to welcome you to continue remaking the world with your friends. We look forward to seeing you on rue Charles Michels in Limoges, better known as “Rue de la soif” or rue Haute Cité. 🎉
