1001 notes FestivalFrom 15 to 19 July 2026

1001 notes Festival

1001 Notes offers a new approach to classical music. Combined with other styles such as country, electro and metal, it’s a unifying force for different audiences, freeing them from the clichés from which it often suffers. From 15 to 19 July, surprise your ears with an innovative marriage of styles!

A must for classical music fans, but not only!

From 15 to 19 July 2026, the 1001 Notes Festival is once again offering five days of celebration, musical discoveries and curiosities of all kinds. Different worlds come together on the big stage at the Limoges Olympic Ice Rink, but also outside.

The 21st edition of the 1001 Notes Festival will be held at the Limoges Olympic Ice Rink under the theme “1001 Notes en voix”.

In 2026, the festival will be inviting the great voices of classical music: Philippe Jaroussky, Natalie Dessay… and contemporary music: Skye Edwards (Morcheeba), Tarja Turunen (Nightwish), Mariam Doumbia (Amadou & Mariam). As well as Thibault Cauvin with his wandering guitar and Sébastien Farge with his timeless accordion.

The Festival offers a host of original hybrid artistic creations: symphonic rap, a musical space epic, piano-vocal metal… and 2 grandiose performances with the Orchestre Symphonique pédagogique 1001 notes.

The programme

As well as the five-day festival, 1001 notes is just as many events throughout the year. Concerts, events, instrumental courses and exhibitions take place all over Limoges.

Find the musical genre that suits you best for one evening, or book the whole festival and let yourself be surprised by the combination of musical styles.

The village

The outside of the festival is transformed into a festive summer village, open to the public from 3pm, with a host of foodtrucks selling local produce, as well as free concerts, talks, meetings with artists, DJ sets and activities for children!

Catering

If you’re looking for something to eat or a drink in a friendly, musical atmosphere, the village will be open from 3pm during Festival week. It’s also an opportunity to meet some of the musicians.

  • Le Croustillant: famous for its fish and chips, gourmet brioches and its recently added duck burger, Le Croustillant focuses on local produce and homemade dishes.
  • La Degustafette: invites you to try its roast camembert, paninis (baker’s bread), homemade crisps and if you ask Xavier nicely, there might be a chocolate mousse left over for you!
  • Locaux Motiv: A range of savoury tapas to accompany a drink with friends, and sweet treats to round off the meal in style (French toast, fruit brioches, baba, ice creams, etc.).
