Ready to ride in our beautiful Limousine countryside? 🏍️🍃 With our partner Adventure BMW Motorrad, we’ve put together a 100% motorcycle day in Limousin. We’ll take you on 185 km of roads and trails! Enough to keep you entertained all day, with a few short breaks thrown in for good measure. Leaving from Limoges, you’ll discover Oradour-sur-Glane, the Site Corot, Mortemart, the Lac de Saint-Pardoux, Saint-Léger-la-Montagne, the Viaduc de Rocherolles and the Jonchère Saint-Maurice Arboretum. If you don’t own a motorcycle, or would like to try out a new one, the BMW Motorrad dealership offers motorcycle rental for touring the roads of Haute-Vienne. 🏍️

Depart from the BMW Motorrad dealership for a day of adventure! 🚦

The dealership offers 5 motorcycle models for hire, so you can test them out before you buy, or simply treat yourself to a day of motorcycle unplugging on the roads of Haute-Vienne. 🏍️🍃

Don’t forget to book in advance to make sure you get the model of your choice. You’ll also benefit from expert advice.

Once you’ve collected your bike and all the necessary equipment, you’re off to France’s most beautiful train station! We never tire of admiring it. 🚉

Arboretum Domanial de la Jonchère Saint-Maurice

35.8 km about 44 min

First stop on your Limousin journey: the Jonchère Saint-Maurice arboretum and its trees, which hold the height record in France and Europe! 🌳

We recommend visiting the arboretum in autumn to feast your eyes on the mix of colors. 🍁

But the arboretum is beautiful all year round!

From the Adventure BMW Motorrad ver l’Arboretum dealership, you’ll need about 44 minutes via Saint-Priest-Taurion, i.e. about 35 km.

03 Step 03

Viaduc de Rocherolles

19.1 km approx. 22 min

A break at the Rocherolles viaduct over the Gartempe! 🍃

The viaduct isn’t visible from the narrow lanes, so you’ll have to park and walk a few meters to admire it.

The added bonus of this section: country roads surrounded by greenery with very little traffic, so you can enjoy the verdant scenery as the miles go by.

04 Step 04

Saint-Léger-la-Montagne

7.8 km approx. 14 min

The must-see in Saint-Léger-la-Montagne is… the Tourbière des Dauges! 🍃

This nature reserve is not accessible by motorcycle, but you can stop to stretch your legs and admire the magnificent view of the Ash Heather and other vegetation on this reserve.

For the adventurous, you can download the “Explor Games” app and solve several riddles while discovering the peat bog.🔎

05 Step 05

Lac de Saint-Pardoux

17.6 km approx. 28 min

Heading for the Lac de Saint-Pardoux! 💦

From Mortemart, take a ride through Razès, as suggested by our partner Adventure BMW Motorrad. 😉

A hot spot for summer bathers and sports enthusiasts of all kinds, Lake Saint-Pardoux offers a wide range of water sports and leisure activities.

If you’re not planning a stopover, you can take advantage of the shady road from the roadside, which offers a glimpse of parts of the lake, especially from the bridge.

Good to know

If you’re feeling peckish, we recommend stopping off at Santrop beach in summer, where you can eat at Le Saint-Pardoux, or all year round at the Auberge du Pontabrier.

06 Step 06

Mortemart

36.4 km approx. 41 min

Head for one of France’s most beautiful villages: Mortemart!

Once there, don’t miss its magnificent 18th-century Halle, as well as the Ducs’ château and chapel. 🏰

It’s a quick tour, as we’re in a small village in the heart of the Limousin, but believe us it’s worth the detour!

Before arriving in Mortemart, you can also stop off at Montrol-Sénard and travel through the corridors of time thanks to its eco-museum to relive scenes of daily life and forgotten trades of yesteryear. 👩‍🌾

07 Step 07

Département Haute Vienne 87 - Site Corot - Saint Junien 2022 - Maxime Authier

Corot site

21 km approx. 21 min

Immersion in the Limousin countryside 🍃

Enter “Moulin de RocheBrune” in your GPS.

When you arrive at the Corot site, you’ll take a winding, shady road down to the site.

In summer and spring, the site is ideal for walking, fishing and picnicking. It’s also a beautiful sight to behold with the colors of autumn. 🍁

If you don’t want to stop, the show is just as beautiful when driving at a leisurely pace to enjoy the scenery. You can admire the old RocheBrune mill and the Glane River. 💦

Good to know

If you’re feeling peckish, we recommend a detour to Saint-Junien and the restaurant Le boeuf rouge.

08 Step 08

Oradour -sur-Glane

13,7 km environ 17 min

Dernière halte dans ce village chargé d’histoire.

Nous vous conseillons de visiter le Centre de la Mémoire ainsi que le village martyr. Vous serez en immersion dans l’histoire de ce village français qui a souffert des atrocités de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.

C’était le dernier point de votre roadtrip à moto pour une journée, maintenant retour à la concession pour rendre votre bolide et clôturer cette belle journée !

Most beautiful village in France Mortemart

A must-see in Haute-Vienne. This small village Limousin was voted one of France’s most beautiful villages, and grew up around the castle built in the 10th century by Abon Drut, Seigneur de Mortemart. Here you can admire the 18th-century covered market and the chapel. The visit is fairly quick, taking less than 1 hour.

Escape to our natural sites such as the Corot site, the Tourbière des Dauges peat bog and the Jonchère Saint-Maurice Arboretum.

The point of view on Lac de Saint-Pardoux

Admire the Lac de Saint-Pardoux at various points along the way. In summer, it’s a popular spot for bathers to take a refreshing break! 💦 We love the view from the La Couze bridge 📸
