Mortemart & Ségur-Le-ChâteauVillages of character

Our most beautiful villages in France

When you go on vacation, it’s always nice to take a stroll through one of the 🏠 “Beaux Villages de France”.

In Haute-Vienne, the village of 🏆 Mortemart in the Monts de Blond is the only one to hold this label, and among our neighboring friends, in Pays de Saint-Yrieix, 🏆 Ségur-Le- Château in Corrèze.

A quick of a view

1. Mortemart

Mortemart is a pretty, unspoilt village recounting over 10 centuries of history, from Gallo-Roman times 🏺.

It boasts a remarkable architectural unity: a 10th-century 🏰 château, the 14th-century Carmes and Augustins convents, and its authentic 18th-century covered market, which bears witness to a previously thriving 💰 trading activity.

Between unspoilt nature and a rich heritage, Mortemart is a must for lovers of fine stonework and history.

2. Ségur-Le-Château

Ségur-le-Château: the pearl of Correze! This magnificent village lies on the border between the Haute-Vienne and Dordogne departments. A “SAFE PLACE” on the banks of the 🏞️ Auvézère river.

On the Route Richard Coeur 💗 de Lion, discover these superb half-timbered houses, including the famous house of the king 👑 Henri IV, the castrum which dominates on its rocky spur, former stronghold of the Viscounts of Limoges.

And don’t forget to wander through these narrow streets “les charrieroux” to meet little “plaizentins”.

Don’t miss the 🥖🍏marchés de producteurs 🍻 de pays every Monday evening in summer (July-August), where you can sample our local produce in a 🎉 festive atmosphere!
