Château des Nieul, built in the 11th century as a medieval fortress, has witnessed the turbulent history of the region 🏰

Within its mysterious walls are architectural treasures, including a Renaissance fireplace decorated with a Salamander 🦎

Inside, the windows are lit by stained glass dating from the 13th, 16th and 17th centuries, from Germanic, Flemish and Swiss regions, adding a touch of colour and wonder to the whole 🤩

Since 1936, the commune has owned it, and since 1946, the castle and its grounds have been classified as historic sites, offering visitors a picturesque landscape made up of valleys, waterfalls, ponds and parks 🌸
