1. Tour of Lac de Saint-Pardoux
departing from Saint-Pardoux-le-LacIt’s a 24 km stroll along the path that circles the Saint-Pardoux lake: from moorland to Limousin forest, passing through small sunken paths that are sometimes bright and sometimes shady, enjoy the many viewpoints along the way. A change of scenery guaranteed in a setting that looks like a little Canada!
Allow around 6 hours for a leisurely ride with your horse.
2. The "Entre Puys et landes" trail
from MeuzacEnjoy a friendly ride with your horse to discover the unspoilt landscapes of the southern Haute-Vienne on the “Entre Puys et Landes” circuit, starting in Meuzac. Numerous views of the countryside, the Limousin forest, livestock farming and the Limousin bocage await you: cross wooded massifs, streams, clearings and meadows, wind through the forest or along dirt tracks, skirt a few ponds and bodies of water, discover villages with typical Limousin dwellings and barns, pass near an old gold-mining site, a mill, the remains of a chapel, … in short! As you can see, this walk is well worth the detour!

+ On your way, don’t miss the Flotte and Cluzeau site with its serpentine outcrop, remarkable for its many rare and protected species. Interpretation trail available along the way (3km circuit – 2h extra – horseback riding possible).
++ For the bravest mounts, it’s also possible to extend the circuit by 12.7 km, i.e. an extra 3h15, by following the signposted “Lacs et rivières” trail (9h15 – 37 km – difficult – yellow signposting – 130 m ascent).

3. The "Sentier des carrières" trail
from NexonSet between ponds and moorland, this tour takes in all Nexon has to offer: the Sirque, the Château, its park, its chapel, its waterfall, the stud farm, the surrounding forest and the many ponds, including the Lande pond. Along the way, you’ll also discover the quarries and small villages of Saint-Hilaire and Le Puy. Follow the orange signposts and set off (lasso?) into the peaceful countryside to find yourself in communion with your animal. Duration varies from 1h30 to 4h, depending on the riders’ pace.
4. The "Chemin des étangs" trail
from Marval-MilhaguetIn need of water and fresh air? In the shade of the trees, on the charming little “sentier des étangs”, set off for a 2 hour ride on horseback to discover the many typical villages of the south-western Haute-Vienne region. Reins in hand, you’ll ride alongside the pleasant Got and Puy Chevalier ponds, and through the refreshingly beautiful Puy Chevalier forest.

A 10 km of ride isn’t enough? The Chemin des étangs can be extended with the Chemin des hautes forets! From 2 and a half hours, your ride will extend 13 km more! Allow 5 hours 45 minutes in all.

5. Tour du Mont Gargan
from the Noailhas lake in La Croisille-sur-BrianceThe “Tour du mont Gargan” trail at La Croisille-sur-Briance offers riders the chance to discover a protected natural area. From the summit of Mont Gargan (731m), one of the highest peaks in Haute-Vienne, you can enjoy a vast panorama of the Limousin mountains, the Monédières…. Mont Gargan was the scene of intense fighting between Colonel Guingouin’s maquisards and the German army during the 1939-1945 war.
