1. The Lac de Vassivière

Carnivore fishing spot

With a surface area of almost 1,000 ha, Lake Vassivière is situated at an altitude of 650 m and is the first of 8 dams built on the Maulde. Classed as a 2nd category lake, it is well stocked with cyprinids (roach and bream) and predators (perch, pike-perch and pike). Fishing by boat, float-tube, kayak or canoe is permitted in compliance with navigation regulations.

The Limoges graciation course is located on the 2nd category Vienne river as it flows through the city. It stretches from the Pont Saint-Etienne to the Pont Saint-Martial, i.e. 2 km of banks. Carnivorous fish must be released on this stretch.
