1. The Lac de Vassivière

With a surface area of almost 1,000 ha, Lake Vassivière is situated at an altitude of 650 m and is the first of 8 dams built on the Maulde. Classed as a 2nd category lake, it is well stocked with cyprinids (roach and bream) and predators (perch, pike-perch and pike). Fishing by boat, float-tube, kayak or canoe is permitted in compliance with navigation regulations.
