With a surface area of almost 1,000 ha, the Vassivière lake, located at an altitude of 650 m, is the first of 8 dams built on the Maulde. 🐟

Classed as a 2nd category fish lake, it is well stocked with cyprinids (roach, bream) and carnivorous fish (perch, pike-perch, pike). Fishing by boat, float-tube, kayak or canoe is permitted in compliance with navigation regulations. 🚣‍♂️

2. Lake Saint Pardoux

The Anse de Puyperier on Lac de Saint-Pardoux, classified as a 2nd category lake, is the place to be for all forms of fishing. It is renowned for its pike-perch and black-bass. The Fréaudour and Villebert coves are renowned for their pike and perch. 🪝

The Limoges graciation course is located on the 2nd category Vienne river as it flows through the city. It stretches from the Pont Saint-Etienne to the Pont Saint-Martial, i.e. 2 km of banks. Carnivorous fish must be released on this stretch. 🙏
