1. Lac de Vassivière

Naturally essential

At Lac de Vassivière, the “Little Canada of Limousin”, you‘re guaranteed a change of scenery with a pike fishing session in a wild green setting in the heart of the magnificent Millevaches Regional Nature Park.

Boasting an impressive population of pike and other predators, the Lac de Vassivière offers you numerous fishing spots across its 1,000 hectares of water and 45 km of shoreline.

Meet the master pike from your boat in the middle of the Lac de Vassivière, comfortably seated on the forest-lined banks or lying in wait in a float tube on the edge of one of the wild islands

2. Lac de Saint-Pardoux

A mischievous and generous nature

The Lac de Saint-Pardoux is a major tourist attraction in the Haute-Vienne… And it’s also a real Eldorado for anglers, in the heart of a natural site preserved from the Limousin!

Classed as a second category lake, its 330 hectares are home to an interesting population of pike, as well as other carnivorous fish and cyprinids: pike-perch, black-bass, perch, rotengle, tench, etc.

The Fréaudour and Villebert coves are the best-known spots for finding the finest specimens of pike on the Lac de Saint-Pardoux. So we’re waiting to see the photos of your best catches!

3. Rénier pond

A pond dedicated to predator fishing

Located in the commune of Saint-Pardoux, just a stone’s throw from the lake of the same name we’ve just described, is the Étang Rénier!

It’s a not-to-be-missed spot for any angler looking to tackle pike in Limousin! This 9-hectare lake is specially dedicated to carnivore fishing. This fishing reservoir is accessible to all holders of fishing cards with the Carnadrome or Specialised Courses option.

Fly fishing, lure fishing, spinning or casting rods, float tubes… it’s up to you to choose your weapons and then come and face the king of predators in the Haute-Vienne!

The little extra? The site is openall year round.

4. La Vienne

Naturally pleasant and attractive

The Vienne is a river renowned for the quality of its water and the presence of many species of fish. This river in the Limousin is particularly well suited to fishing for pike and other predators.

Here are our favourite spots on the Vienne for pike fishing:

  • In Limoges, between the Saint-Etienne bridge and the Saint-Martial bridge: 2 km of bank fishable in the heart of Limoges between the two historic bridges over the Vienne.
  • In Saint-Junien from the island of Chaillac sur Vienne at the confluence of the Glane.
  • In Le Palais sur Vienne, at the 45-hectare reservoir.
  • At Saint-Léonard de Noblat, upstream of the Moulin de Beaufort
  • At Saint-Brice sur Vienne
  • In Aixe-sur-Vienne

All kinds of fishing techniques are possible: from the shore, in a float-tube, fishing with natural bait, with a long rod, with a match rod or with a feeder… you’ll love fishing for pike on the Vienne!

5. Lac Sainte-Hélène

The Lac de Sainte-Hélène in Bujaleuf is a peaceful stretch of water on the Maulde that is very popular with naturelovers… and anglers in particular!

Classed as a 2nd category lake and covering an area of 56 hectares, this Limousin lake is a real paradise for pike and other predatory fish: pike-perch, perch, black-bass, etc.

The lake also has a ‘ Family ‘ course for the very young.
