Street fishing in Limoges

A great day out in the Capital of the Arts of Fire can’t be complete without a visit to the banks of the Vienne. Beautifully laid out for walking, you’ll have no trouble finding a spot to put your fishing rod down in Limoges and a good population of fish to tease, particularly carnivorous fish! Cast your line while admiring the pretty views of Saint-Étienne Cathedral and the Saint-Martial Bridge…

From the Pont Saint-Etienne to the Pont Saint-Martial, you are on one of the Limousin’s graciation routes for these fish species: pike, zander, common perch and fario trout.

Fishing in the great outdoors

Haute-Vienne has 7,000 km of 1st category rivers, 220 km of 2nd category rivers and 2,000 hectares of dams… In other words, there’s a vast and varied playground in Limousin! Which fish will take your bait? 🐟

Our fishing recommendation for enthusiasts: stop off at the Station Pêche d’Eymoutiers, just a few minutes from Lac de Vassivière. A certified passion pêche course runs through the centre of the medieval town and stretches along the Vienne from the Bussy dam to the Macaud bridge. 🌉
