Limousin Christmas cocktail

Christmas Eve is just around the corner! 🕯️💫

If your Christmas menu is already ready to go, thanks in particular to our selection of festive recipes, now’s the time to think about what you’re going to serve your guests for the aperitif… How about a simple yet original cocktail?

Whether you’re looking for a fresh, fruity drink or a comforting blend with woody notes, let yourself be seduced by this suggestion for a cocktail recipe and its variations, inspired by our beautiful region. Cheers!

Chestnut Kir

Limousin means chestnut

Kirs can be found in every region and in every sauce…

But you’ll love this one for its round mouthfeel, velvety texture and golden color. Comforting, gourmet and versatile, this cocktail with its hints of the Limousin countryside has it all. Add a hint of cinnamon, the star ingredient of Christmas, and you’ve got the perfect cocktail for your New Year’s Eve party.

Served in champagne flutes, wine glasses or flared cocktail glasses, it will reveal its sweet, spicy and woody fragrances to perfection.

Ingredients:

  • 25 cl chilled dry white wine
  • 1 dash chestnut liqueur
  • 1 dash cinnamon syrup
  • A few glazed chestnut pieces
  • One ice cube

We told you, it’s that simple!

Preparation:

  • Place one or two ice cubes in a cocktail glass, wine glass or champagne flute.
  • Pour a dash of chestnut liqueur
  • Then pour in the cinnamon syrup
  • Top up with chilled white wine
  • Serve up!
  • For an extra touch of deliciousness, don’t hesitate to place a small piece of glazed chestnut at the bottom of the glass 😋 A real treat!
Variant n°1

For a slightly less alcoholic version, replace the white wine in this cocktail with lemonade, preferably limousine and not too sweet, to make your taste buds sparkle!

Variant n°2

If you don’t like cinnamon, leave it out. The chestnuts will reveal their full flavour!

Variant n°3

For a zero-alcohol version, replace the white wine with sparkling apple juice (from the Limousin region, of course!) and the chestnut liqueur with chestnut syrup.

Apple-cinnamon-chestnut is THE winning trio!
