Logo Station Peche JpegCreated by the Fédération des Stations Vertes and the Fédération Nationale de la Pêche en France, the Station Pêche label enables people of all levels to discover and practice the sport of fishing, thanks to specially adapted courses that respect the aquatic environment.
Two communes in the Portes de Vassivière have been awarded the label: Bujaleuf and Eymoutiers.
Surrounded by lakes and rivers, Bujaleuf offers visitors dozens of kilometers of brooks and 230 hectares of lakes where all species of fish are represented. With the 70-hectare Lac de Ste Hélène, the commune has all the facilities needed for fishing tourism and vacations. Lac de Sainte-Hélène, which specializes in carnivorous fish and carp, has two berths for the disabled and most of the shoreline is accessible to anglers. Other features include: dams on the Maulde with launching facilities, and a range of courses: “No kill”, “Night carp” and “Family”.

La Vienne, à EymoutiersEymoutiers, gateway to the Parc naturel régional de Millevaches and a Petite Cité de Caractère (small town), is crossed by the Vienne river, which offers a remarkable fishing site. An ideal destination for a day out or a fishing break, which can be enhanced by a visit to the town and its treasures! The Vienne, a 1st category river, crosses the town along a no-kill course, where the release of fario trout and grayling, emblematic species of the Vienne, is compulsory. There’s also a “Passion” course and the Fressengeas pond, managed by the Fressengeas fishing association (special fishing cards available).
