It was moved from Bersac to Bessines in 1992. It is a curious anthropomorphic megalith of coarse-grained granite with two micas, 3.50 m high, 1 m square and weighing 12 tons. Two deep artificial cuts form a sort of massive head, linked to the body of the monument by a neck, and a human form seems to be forming. At the end of the 19th century, stonemasons interested in mining it wanted to extract it from the field. Attempts were made in vain to move it with eggs to find out what was underneath, as legend has it that this is the burial place of a general who was crushed underneath with his sabre and shield, but no bones or objects have been found.
It is located in the Jardin d?Amour, a meeting place for 72-year-old Marie Bourlaud and 22-year-old Jean Dufraisse. To avoid being seen, they used to meet in this small garden.
