The René Baubérot Museum in Châteauponsac is dedicated to local history.
This "Musée de France" is housed in a former priory dating from the late Middle Ages. It exhibits prehistoric and Gallo-Roman archaeological collections, as well as sculptures and objets d?art, testifying to the region?s built and religious heritage.
It also showcases rural and middle-class life in Limousin in the 19th and 20th centuries, with themes such as fashion, crafts, agriculture and daily life.
A collection of minerals completes the museum's collection.
Each year, a new exhibition is presented in the museum's annex, the "Maison du Terroir".
