Description
This menhir, 3.5 m high and weighing around 7 tonnes, is one of the megaliths identified and still present in Haute-Vienne. Standing at the foot of a rocky outcrop, it bears witness to the occupation of waterside areas by prehistoric populations who were nomadic and then settled in the Neolithic period (6000 BC to 2200 BC).
As an anecdote, this menhir was moved a few metres in 1999 by the commune's mayor to mark the communal road, as it bordered two properties.
