This château is the successor to an ancient medieval fortress, the remains of which could still be seen in 1900. It was built during the reign of Henri IV, in the late 16th or early 17th century. During the French Revolution, the château suffered some damage: the upper part of the keep, the corner turrets and weather vanes disappeared, and the coat of arms was removed.
