The fortified church of Blond is a 12th-century Romanesque building listed as a Monument Historique. The bell tower, transformed into a keep at the end of the 16th century, is framed by four buttresses that were raised to create defensive reductions. The oldest parts of the church date back to the 10th century. According to a chronicle written by parish priest Martial Micheau, in the margin of his register, Blond suffered from the passage of Protestant troops from 1567 onwards. Tired of the destruction, the inhabitants fortified the church. Of these fortifications, the bell tower buttresses, the two forebay towers, the watch windows, the bretèche supports and the stone cannonball holes remain.
