Les Cars church is a blend of architecture from different periods. The lower part of the chevet, its apses and the transept crossing appear to be the oldest, and may be related to the Romanesque style. The nave, on the other hand, displays the characteristics of the Gothic style, most easily recognized in the west doorway. Finally, in 1920, the last major work carried out on the church was the tower-belfry built in place of a comb-belfry.
