Château de Montauran
Description
XV-XVIIth century château, contemporary with the Hundred Years' War. It features a 14th-15th-century icehouse and the last pigeon loft in the Haute-Vienne. Legend has it that it inspired Honoré de Balzac?s novel "Les Chouans", which named the royalist leader the Marquis de Montauran dit le Gars. Private, not open to the public.
