30 years of ceramics... Two directions:
Sculptures around the Tree and work for Tea pieces (Japan-China-Korea), 4 to 5-day wood firing in Anagama kiln (direct flame) for sculptures, porcelain and shinos
Porcelain and stoneware fired in Yakishime/natural ashes on raw clay, notably for sculpture and Oribe, for which I did research based on my work in Japan.
Shino on stoneware in the traditional Japanese style adapted to my personal style.
I make my own stoneware from mixtures of clays blended with wild feldspars and sands that I gather around my studio in the countryside.
Most of my pieces are turned, generally deformed, engraved, printed and cut with tools I have created for my own needs.
I respect the Japanese techniques I?ve learned and I use them in my work
