Passio Secundum Johannem
To mark the tercentenary of Johann Sebastian Bach?s famous composition, the 1001 Notes Instrumental and Vocal Ensemble presents a new interpretation of the St. John Passion BWV 245.
Given on April 11, 2024, this performance will take place almost 300 years to the day after the score was first performed in Leipzig. This "remixed" Passion will retain the essence of the work, while integrating elements of sound creation. A reduced orchestration combining baroque and modern instruments will sublimate the Gospel text sung by five brilliant soloists.
