The Nine Leagues procession, several hundred years old, is a long-standing tradition in Basse Marche. It begins on the night following Pentecost Sunday, after the midnight mass celebrated in the church of Magnac-Laval. It covers a nine-league "Gascogne" loop of 53 km, with 48 stops at crosses decorated with flowers by local families, and ends at its starting point at around 8:30pm with a ceremony. A journey through our beautiful countryside, an inner journey, a family reunion, a taste for this unique effort, encounters along the way... everyone has their own motivation and reasons for coming back.
