The apparent boundary between earth and sky, the horizon is a distant line where the two seem to meet. The term is also used to indicate the limit of our knowledge. In Jeremy Shaw's work, a limit is necessarily something to be transgressed, whether by physical, spiritual or technological means. "Maximum Horizon" exploits the iconography of religion, science fiction and representations of the sublime. The exhibition creates contemplative spaces in the architecture of CIAP Vassivière that transform our perspective and explore both archaic and contemporary modes of representation.
