As part of the Nuit de la Lecture, the Bateau Livre presents the "Automates de métiers anciens" exhibition, featuring automata belonging to Denis Desnoyer from Condat, who restores and animates the automata made by his father, Jacques Desnoyer. These automata ingeniously recreate the trades of yesteryear, using unusual salvaged parts (windscreen wiper motors, washing machine programmers, everyday objects, etc.).
Highly fragile, they will only be in operation in the presence of Mr Desnoyer, who will offer a first guided tour on Wednesday January 21 at 3pm.
