To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War, the Musée de la Résistance is hosting a conference entitled "The Spanish in the Resistance in Limousin", led by Tiphaine Catalan, PhD in Hispanic Studies from Paris 8 University.
In France, where many Spanish exiles had found refuge, they were soon to face another war, this time a world war. In Limousin, as in other regions of France, these Spaniards were welcomed or, more often, displaced, incorporated or conscripted, and they took the path of the Resistance. How many and who were they? Why and how did they enlist?
