Duo GARENNE: Noëllie Nioulou viola da gamba, baroque violin, vocals ? Clémence Cognet baroque violin, vocals
Clémence Cognet and Noëllie Nioulou are as steeped in Baroque music as they are in the folk fiddle music of the Massif Central. They have therefore taken the liberty of building a concert repertoire on Baroque instruments, exposing the fluidity of what appears to be a great musical continuum. Baroque dance melodies respond to traditional laments, brunettes to bourrées. Their solid complicity, built on years of ballroom playing, makes for lively, subtle music with a deep, rich sound.
