Cellules de Matière - Sculptures sur bois aux formes organiques

HF Sculpture is a woodcarving workshop, initiated by Hélène Fromonteil in 2015. A graduate of the École Boule and trained in statuary in Italy, Hélène Fromonteil is based near the medieval quarter of Parthenay (79), the artist finds inspiration in this place where where time seems suspended. The Cellules de Matière sculpture series is a tribute to wood, the sculptor's favorite material. Here, she plays the microscopic with the macroscopic. Hélène Fromonteil highlights what constitutes living matter. A close bond is established between the sculptor and her piece as it is created. These organically-shaped works can illustrate the accumulation of cells or suggest other, more distant images, such as constellations. The formal relationship between these scales can be infinitely multiplied.
